“...They say ev’ry man must fall.Yet I swear I see my reflection, Some place so high above this wall. I see my light come shining From the west unto the east. Any day now, any day now, I shall be released…” I Shall Be Released.
-Bob Dylan 1971.
Why doubt God?
Answer: Stupidity.
It’s been another long week in Albany… My loan money for school has still yet to come in. I have no meal plan, money for books, gas ect…and I have been praying to God,”Please Lord I need the money, I need food and books!” and I get no other answer but “Do you trust me?” My answer is always “yes” then with an added “but…”. Before I went to bed though I was talking to Jenny (not Bambi, my Jenny) on the phone and we were talking about God and trust issues. I decided this night as I was praying to say “okay Lord, you know my needs, help. Good night.” This morning I woke up at 7:30am like I asked the Lord to help me do and I got all my homework done for the day. Later on this afternoon after class I needed to buy Gasoline, food for lunch and a book for class all in under 1.5 hours (driving in Albany you would know this is no small miracle to ask the Lord.) I was able to buy lunch, (I have literally very little money) and when I went to buy the book I was expecting to pay $35.00 +, it turned out to be $9.00 bucks and when I headed to the gas pump, I filled my tank for $16.00 and that was after I drove from Plattsburgh to Albany and drove to guilderland. On top of all of this I went to park and there was nowhere to park and I needed to review for my Constitutional law class. I drove around for ten minutes with nothing and finally I said “Lord, I need a close spot to park, thank you, Amen.” In that moment, a car pulled out in front of me and it was right at one of the closest spots I could park in. On top of all of this my back hurt this morning from sleeping on it wrong, I casually asked Him “Lord thank you for healing my back” BOOM! the pain is gone.
If you learn to trust God with the little things, you realize that nothing is too big for God. Whether its healing your body from disease or helping you find a parking spot.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.” -Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” - Matthew 17:20 NKJV
