Change.

I have friend’s who say to me, “have you been to so & so’s church?” “Oh man, the Holy Spirit was in that place!” I mostly here though, “Have you been to so & so’s church? It was awful.” Or “I went there and that was a dead church.” “I wouldn’t even call those people in that place Christians!” and most importantly, “I wouldn’t talk to those people, there, they’re (insert denomination here). Did you know that today, there are approximately 33,000 Christian denominations (seriously, click here.) in the world?
What ever happened to unity? What ever happened to Christ’s words? “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ‘This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” –Matthew 22:36-40 [NIV]
In other words, cut the crap. Stop all this wasteful doctrine and false ideology. Paul put it the best in Ephesians:
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6 [NKJV]
There is no room in the body of Christ is idle people! The Lord called His children apart:
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” -1 Peter 2:9-10 [NKJV]
I sit in a church building and look around myself, and can do nothing but, shake my head. 10% of the Church does 90% of the work! When I see this, I (and the 10% of the church) think of Christ saying: “Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.” –Luke 10:2-3 [NKJV]
I believe that ‘WE’ the body of Christ need to get off our asses. ‘We’ need to open our Bible’s and start reading! If ‘WE’ believe that ‘WE’ have heard from Christ we need to do as what Paul wrote in Ephesians:
if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Therefore, putting away lying, Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. -Ephesians 4:21-32 [NKJV]

I know that I come off harshly, and I apologize for myself but, not the message. I am the least in the Kingdom of Christ! I am the worst Christian I know. I don’t always put Christ first, and I have broken most of the commandments in my life, and I sin daily, hourly, and sometimes minutely. I know though that we need to ask for forgiveness of our sins, man up and do our jobs.

*Remember the riches that we accumulate down here, will not compare to the glory of the riches we accumulate up there.

Bewildering.

Frustration is inevitable from time to time. I am vexed over political & unseeable restraints that hold me to my current position in life.

VexedIn short: This sucks.

Right now, my wife and I are in perpetual limbo. We are both having to wait and see what transpires. Everything is out of our hands, and we are now in God’s perfect (not that we weren’t already but, sometimes we are disillusioned) will.  Isn’t life like that sometimes? Getting the rug pulled out from underneath you so you can really see where you stand in life.
The real beacon that lights up your inner-self and flashes: “Who’s really in control? Is it you or is it Me [God]?”
It’s funny, I say to people “yeah, I trust in God. Yes my faith is totally in Him.”
Do I really?
I say this, and then I think in my mind: ‘yes, I am going to do to, and I am going to do that.’  Not God is going to do this, and God is going to do that.  When I catch myself in this mindset I try to correct myself internally, and remember the passage in James.

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.   your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”  -James 4:13-16 [NKJV]

In sum,
I wish I would just shut up, and enjoy the ride because I know God is the One driving.

Just think about that when you think your in control.
